The AAG Critical Geographies of Education Specialty Group (CGE-SG) solicits submissions of completed and defended dissertations during the 2020 calendar year for consideration for our annual award. Research must align with the mission of the CGE-SG (http://www.critgeoed.com/), which is to “promote, organize, and advance critical geographic explorations of education and schooling; to support the scholarly growth of critical geographers of education; and to contribute to social movements related to struggles over schooling.” The winner of the award will receive $100 (USD). AAG/CGE-SG membership or attendance at the conference is not necessary to participate in the competition.
Submissions should be emailed to Dan Cohen ([email protected]) or Nicole Nguyen ([email protected]) by Friday. March 19th. In addition to your dissertation (as a pdf file) please include the date of your defense, your full name, affiliation (university, department, and degree), and mailing address. The decision will be announced at the AAG annual meeting.
