June 14, 2019 Webinar: E-Learning & Inequality
Description: In this presentation. Beyhan Farhadi will evaluate Ontario's announcement to mandate four e-learning credits by 2020 as a response to manufactured crisis in public education. Drawing from her research in the largest school board in Canada, the Toronto District School Board, and examples throughout North America, her presentation will focus on how e-learning is intensifying inequality, fostering dependency on corporate actors, and compromising labour standards, whose strength protects workers from exploitation, and advances academic integrity and student well-being in public education.
